Fosbury Flop
In 1968, Dick Fosbury won the gold medal in the Olympic high jump with his revolutionary technique of propelling himself backward over the bar. His peers soon began imitating him and the Fosbury Flop is still used in competition to this day.

It is unknown, however, when humpback whales decided the Flop was best for them as well.
