In September of 2009, I finally journeyed to Canada's Great Bear Rainforest, a place I had longed to visit for several years. Spending 9 days aboard a boat, I explored the islands, inlets and waterways of British Columbia's remote Pacific coast.

Bears are the main attraction in this area, including the famed spirit bear, which is only found in this region. However, there's plenty of other wildlife as well, much of which I was fortunate to encounter during the trip.
