"Express feelings in writing... Trip out of town may be necessary."

2/18/01 -Seattle-
I'm still pissed.
The main reason we made this trip was to be able to see two Man U games in a week (and two potentially great
games at that). We found out two days ago that the Man U - Arsenal game was switched to Sunday, 2/25... the
day we leave England. Due to the nature of the Internet Special we took advantage of, we can't change our
return flight. We're screwed. Oh well, it's nothing an intense night of clubbing won't take care of.

-Chicago-
Sat next to a couple of fine chicas from NY while waiting at Starbucks in O'Hare. They couldn't figure out
the time difference... Just learned that Dale Earnhardt was killed in a crash at the Daytona 500.

-Chicago (still)-
We boarded late, and then sat on the plane and went nowhere. Apparently, there was a busted "bleed valve."
I hesitate to think what a bleed valve does... Bottom line: we'll be hella late. They brought us back to the
terminal and gave us $10 food vouchers. We're already two hours late. After they bring in another plane
we'll end up being at least four hours late. Now if they'd only put us on a later flight coming home in
payment for suffering through all this... |
|
SCORE. Made up a story about how we'll miss a meeting due to this delay and asked if we could return a day
later because of it. 2 minutes later, done! Man U-Arsenal, here we come. We used our vouchers at McDonald's
and filled up on greasy food, which meant that we were too full to experience the American Airlines
"International Flagship Dinner" (their terminology). Got 3-4 hours of sleep at most. Hopefully that'll keep
the jet lag away long enough. |
