Laura McGee Kvasnosky LMK Books
http://www.lmkbooks.com
One of my favorite recent projects was the site redesign for one of my long-time clients, children's author Laura McGee Kvasnosky. Laura writes and illustrates the popular Zelda and Ivy children's books, but had been using the same web site for nearly a decade. It was time for an update.

It was important to build out a site that took advantage of Laura's great artwork, which has a distinct style. By incorporating the bright colors and dark gouache ink lines in her art, we were able to create a home for the Fox Sisters and a fun atmosphere for their fans. Swinging Flash picture frames added a fun element and the addition of a Wordpress-based journal allows Laura to publish her own updates and news.

TotSites.com allows new and expecting parents to build and maintain a web site for their baby. Using automated admin functionality, parents can upload photos, videos, journal entries and other features to a cute site devoted to their child.

One of the great features of TotSites.com allows parents to choose and swap out special design themes for their baby's site at any time. The folks at TotSites asked me to come up with some of these themes and templates. Some of my more popular designs include the animated Rain Forest theme, the pink Princess design and several seasonal and holiday layouts. With over 50 completed Max Waugh designs and dozens more in the works, TotSites has solidified its niche with the most dynamic offering of available baby themes on the web. Update: In early 2009 a full site redesign and interface will be completed.

Brenda Z. Guiberson, children's author Brenda Z. Guiberson
http://www.brendazguiberson.com
Brenda Guiberson is an award-winning children's author and illustrator who specializes in science-oriented tales for young readers. Brenda's stories take readers through rain forests, deserts, the polar ice caps and beyond, all the while teaching the reader about the animals and plants that live there.

Brenda's site took a year's worth of oft-interrupted planning and design, but the project finally got rolling in spring of 2005. The site incorporates artwork from Brenda's books, mild earth tones reminiscent of the natural subjects Brenda writes about, and comprehensive details and class projects pertaining to her writing. I even designed and created custom games featuring themes from Brenda's work, suitable for children of various ages. The site was completed in time for the release of Brenda's latest title, Mud City.

This page offers examples of my graphic design work. While I primarily work as a Web designer, I also have experience in a number of other disciplines. These include photography, print design, project management, technical writing, QAT and more.

While I have performed work for a number of larger corporations, I specialize in web design for smaller companies and individuals with limited budgets. I relish my longstanding relationships with my clients and the opportunity to work more intimately with them on their site designs and continued site maintenance.

In addition, I have established partnerships with others in the Web development industry. This collaboration allows me to offer clients a full scope of services:
