Max was born on April 6, 1976 and has lived in the Pacific Northwest ever since. The son of two professors, Max has naturally shied away from educational endeavors throughout his life. Despite a number of missed classes and hastily-written, last-minute papers, he somehow managed to come away from the University of Washington with some semblance of a degree.

With the exception of three childhood years in Pullman, WA (the so-called "dark years"), Seattle has always been home to Max, who currently makes a living as a graphic designer and creative consultant. After a stint as the feature photographer for Sports Washington magazine he now shoots for University of Washington athletics. His exploration of nature and travel photography is chronicled on this web site.

Since 2003, Max has traveled to China, Belgium & Holland, Russia, Spain, Yellowstone (a couple times per year), New Zealand, Costa Rica (twice), Greece, the UK (twice), Ecuador, Sweden, Rwanda and Tanzania. See more about these journeys in the Travel Section. What's next? A return to New Zealand in March, 2009. Possible destinations for future trips include the Great Bear Rainforest, India, Iceland, Australia. Feel free to submit suggestions for the next exotic locale you think Max should visit.
